Last week I bought a box of 30 Mantic Zombies from my local game store.

The box has 10 sprues of 3 zombies each. 3 legs, 3 bodies, 3 arms (only need 2) and 6 heads, along with a base for a "coming out of the ground" type figure, and a spine for a "legs but no body" type zombie.

The box also included 30 20mm square bases.

I got 12 of them completed. I sprayed them with Barbarian Flesh color primer from The Army Painter. Then painted what was not-flesh, then used the Army Painter Quickshade dip (Strong Tone), did some very basic highlights, then matte spray and basing.

The base bits are left overs from the Wargames Factory Skeleton Warriors I posted last week.

Quick and easy. The bodies fit to the legs via a ball joint kind of connection, so it's easy to pose them a lot of different ways. One body has both arms, and the other two have one arm, so you can pose the other arm any way you like.

I would have like a few more leg and body choices, but the ones provided are nice.

I rather like these myself, though as you say a bit more variation would be nice..

Cheers Roger.

Great article. But why were they based on rounds if they were meant for Kings of War? My zombies came with square bases with a circular depression to fit the mini's round base – no filler needed.

Thanks Blooddave

I base nearly all of my figs on two pence pieces, this means they can be used with my other figure genres, e.g superheroes of sci/fi even cowboys if necessary.

Plus there most probable use will be within "Zombicide" which use bases approximately this size as well.

Cheers Roger.

@blooddave If you get their ghouls as well, the pieces mix and match to add several more options for assembling them

Good to know, Borathan! Thanks.

Mantic undead are brilliant, I love the skeletons – pure Army of Darkness

They are far better than GW Surfing Undead.
