I started a thread about favorite 15 mm Sci-Fi aliens for your games. I have decided that I am going to go with one of the Rebel Minis alien races and the Manth (Anthropomorphic Ants) are currently a strong contender. I like the Kurgan (5th Element Aliens) and the Brog are also interesting but I keep going back to the Manth. For one reason those model would paint up fast not having lots of equipment to distinguish and well I have always thought ants were pretty cool. The question is would these guys have vehicle or would they just show up via a seed ship that lands and the Manth conquer by way of overwhelming numbers? What are you thoughts? Have you collected a Manth force? If you do think they should have vehicles what manufacturer meets your idea of design. Or just advocate for another alien race. Would you include the Manth as part of an alien coalition? |

My force has a mix of grav sleds, mechs, and 'crawling' APCs.

Those crawlers are cool where did those come from or are they scratch built? If i am not mistaken i think they are Cybots from the Dr Who toy range, very cool idea to use them for bug/insectoid APC's. :) |

How about the Dreenoi "Cockroach" walking tank as a Manth analogue to the Konigs Tiger:
They're available from Reviresco: tin-soldier.com Hope this helps with your Manth swarm invasion needs!

@kallman, glad you likes 'em. I freely confess that I am the original concept designer for the "Cockroach," and the crazy thing remains amongst my personal favorite projects over the years. At $10 USD a whack it's still a very good bang for the wargaming buck, with the added advantage that the model is quite scale neutral in its original layout, so it works as a really large walker in 6mm, a heavy walker in 15mm, a light/medium AFV in 20mm, and a hefty gun drone in 25mm or 28mm. You can of course modify the model to suit your needs by adding access hatches, stowage, etc. as you see fit. I have one remaining I need to finish on my workbench; I keep going back and forth about whether or not to keep the stock armament or replace the main gun with something different and nasty/nastier than the Conversion Beam that comes with the model… Leland R.
