Gents, My first foray into ACW was in part motivated by researching my family history and finding one of my relatives who had emigrated from our home in Scotland to PA. Fighting in the 37th PA and eventually succumbing to wounds. Imagine my surprise tonight when I find that His letters home have been published, sadly the book only seems to be available in the U.S. To the actual point of this post! I've found the book available in an e-format at blogbookclub.org. I'm always wary of giving away bank account details to sites I don't recognise, does anyone have any experiences with this site? Thanks for any help. Irregular |

Irregular, Have you tried other places to find it? I have had good results with Google books. They provide alternate sources and even help finding it in libraries. What is the title of the book? Duncan |

Everyone, thanks for your help so far. I've fairly extensively researched my ancestor already, the published letters were new to me though! The book is titled: The Civil War Letters of Cpl. John H Strathern: Eighth Pennsylvania Reserve Volunteer Corps. I will more thank likely make the purchase from America and pay for the shipping. However, given my impatience I was wondering on the veracity of these e-book sites so I could have a sneak peek. |
