I am toying with the idea of bringing my son (7) with me to Historicon this year for the day on Saturday. Is there a listing somewhere of just kid friendly games? I know the HAWKS have several going on but I don't know how fast they fill up.

So does such a list exist? Who has experience bringing the wee-ones to the cons?

Since I look for kids games (and some obscure stuff)

You can also download the PEL pdf (link on the blog post) and search for "kid/child"

So long as you're playing alongside him, I'm certain the Gnomes would be happy to play with him on the MBA board.

Also alot of other games allow young ones to play IF accompanied by an adult (either playing or non-playing) that can help them out. I've been bringing my grandsons the last few years and usually get them in one specific "kid" game and two games where I get to play with them. I think they enjoy the ones we play together more because we talk about them for months to come.

Thanks guys! That should give me plenty to choose from!

+1 to Viscount Eric's comments regarding the Gnome Wars games. The rules were designed to get children into playing with miniatures. Parent/child teams are welcome in those games. There should be one Gnome game on each day of Historicon, except Sunday.

The HAWKS should also have several games designed for children.

Hope to see you there.

The HAWKs will have a kids' table on Saturday with 3 games:

Warrior Cats
Armies for Kids-ACW
Lego Pirates

Also, many of our games are "kids welcome with a playing adult", so check the PEL for specifics.

I can vouch for the HAWKS' "kid" games being fun, even for kids of "a certain age" like me. Good to bring new blood into the hobby and to share the fun with your wee ones.
