Howdy,

May 28, 1862 (Turn 7) will be a most significant day in our campaign.

• Jackson is defending Strasburg against an attack by Shields from Front Royal.

• Second Harrisonburg as Allegheny Ed Johnson is attacked by Fremont.

Battles will be fought using Volley & Bayonet, Battalion Scale. More to come …

Ponder on,

Howdy,

I got the game info (map & OB) for these two battles out the door to the respective referees.

Looks like these battles will get fought on or before the first week of August. More to come …

Howdy,

Probably need a word or two of explanation to go with that.

I am the campaign referee. There are five players who submit orders for their respective commands (Jackson, Ed Johnson, Banks, Shields, Fremont). All campaign stuff done via email.

When battles occur, so far there have two referees who actually run the battles, given input from the campaign. The tabletop commanders do not have any other connection to the campaign.

While players have far more control than their historical counterparts, this distributed system does add to the fog of war. Things don't always go the way the campaign commander intends.

Howdy,

Union wins big at Second Harrisonburg. Strasburg still pending.

Howdy,

Jackson takes a thumping at Strasburg.

More to come …
