The first half of a two part post is at the blog. Here you will find a brief history with the forces used for both sides plus a contemporary map. Tomorrow, the battle report with photos. link Cheers, Robert |

Very interesting! I've been reading up on the First Ottoman-Russian War, circa 1770, but have seen no Orders of Battle for any of those battles. I'm looking forward to your battle report and photos. |

Battle report is going through a final draft and will be posted later this morning. The OB for most of the Ottoman conflicts I have found (early 18th century) are given in round numbers (1,000) and have a generic description of the troops; Serbian, Croatian, Tartar, etc. How they were armed and fought becomes a process of interpolation between scarce historical evidence and the "most likely." But then, this makes the exercise fun. Cheers, Robert |
