"GW has been preparing you for this moment. The clues and hints were there, in The End Times campaign. Obviously hindsight is 20/20, but let's take a look back. GW loosened requirements for your army, first allowing 50% Lords/Heroes, then completely doing away with this and inserting unbound as a rule (not that anyone played with the rule). Formations were introduced. Armies were combined. GW has been testing the waters and slowly introducing these elements to us. We've seen players freaking out after Age of Sigmar leaks. "I'm out." "Warhammer is dead." "GW sucks." When the initial rumors were of a small, skirmish-style game that would take the place of our beloved WFB, we were in that camp as well. However, after seeing the rules leak, we've become increasingly excited and optimistic about the direction of this game. Read on as the Nerdhammer crew weighs in on the upcoming Age of Sigmar release, our thoughts about the models and leaked rules, and what the future holds for the hobby we have so much time invested in…" Full review here link Amicalement Armand |

The commentators seem sock puppets to a man. |

Unbound is in Warhammer Fantasy ?? Who plays with that rule ? We do in 40k, its just that nobody REALLY uses it because "battle forged" is better. Anyway I have played WHFB since 1992. I'm optimistic about Age of Sigmar. Guess I am a sock puppet or fanboy. Want me to throw in a few OMFGs and make a post in the forum that I am quitting WHFB ??? |

Several points, including the fact that they specifically mentioned The Competition (there are Others, out there, somewhere!) says 'not a sock-puppet". |

Well they had to do something to deal with falling WHFB sales, but I think this is huge mistake. AOS is not WHFB. It is a new game entirely. What they are doing is killing off WHFB in one hand and distracting you with the other. By doing it this way, they mute some of the nerdrage. They are going after the Warmachine crowd. Again oldtimers are ignored. Sure they throw us a bone with the "all" models thing. But you know it's the new models that will get the support and they will stealth kill older models by just letting them go out of stock like they did with LOTR. Time will tell if they did they right thing. Xin |

Well after AOS comes out Warhammer will be dead. From what I have read you can't use your current WFB figures for the game. We will know more after this weekend. But I am not going to be playing it. |

My understanding – which could be mistaken – is that current WFB armies will be able to be played in AOS – we shall see GW learned along time ago that 'old timers' don't spend like noobs – so focus has been on noobs for at least 2 decades despite intermittent half-hearted failed attempts to woo 'old timers' to participate more (= spend more money) |
