On the color wheel, starting at red, crimson shades a bit toward blue, while scarlet shades toward yellow. Crab red is a very vivid red, slightly on the scarlet side. Brick 9or tile) red is a duller red, almost terra cotta. |

Tankrider – thanks; aware of that guide but I don't think it's 100% accurate; Orange is supposed to be 'brick red' which is slightly different…so I lost confidence in the other colourings it suggests although it is a fantastic resource. Handy guide rmaker! Wrgmr1 – which for which…and this is only 15mm so will likely only need 1 colour! Thank you all |

For East Prussians' "Brick Red" I use P3 Khado Red Highligh. I thought it had the orangey- red color, plus I had it lying around. |

RuLane@ You're a good Prussian to get it sorted out now or it will haunt you in 30 years. |

IIRC, brick red is an orange-brown colour. We would not really call it red at all. Scarlet is pretty straightforward. Not sure about madder red. I googled it to paint some Chasseurs a Cheval and it gave me colours that were similar to crimson. I believe the actual German term is "kraprot". |

Ollie Schmidt's Prussian Infantrymen for Osprey has very good colour blocks for the various facings. |
