So I've only painted warlord, and it annoys, as one or who of each spure has some uglyness on the left arm (flat non modeled thing) But how are the Perrs? I want to paint them in winter uniforms, and i gather that you simply paint on the boots, but how well does that work? |

the Perry's Russians are much nicer. you can paint on the long gaiters worn over the gaitered trousers without too much trouble I think. I originally bought 2 Russian starter sets and then sold them before i painted much as the perry figures are way nicer. I won't even touch on the dismal warlord metal Russian command. the ones i got were terribly sculpted. |

I have painted both and I prefer the Warlord plastics to the Perry plastic but I don't like the metal command from Warlord.

de Ligne--what gives Warlord the edge over the Perrys? |

I like both sets. The Warlord set has a certain charactor to it. The Perrys' set is crisp an clean, but, to me, it's the same faces etc. that the twins have on all their sets. That gets a tad boring. That notwithstanding if I were going to do more 28mm Russians, I would buy boxes from both companies. Also, the Perrys have command set sprues to replace the metal sets from Warlord. |

Guys I've never painted either but i've sold many sets on ebay and had a sneaky look. The Warlord figures are very old – some of their original sculpts and there has been a lot of improvement in their newer figures. However, the Perry figures look to be the better set. As stated elsewhere, the metal command isnt very good in the Warlord Sets J |

I happily mix them both in the same units Perry's do have the edge my only gripe is with the command, lack of poses, only one arm set, A nice officers but you do not wont the same at the front of every battalion. I have purchased Perry's metal command, also very nice. I have used Victrix and Perry's arms to give me a variety of poses. |
