Here is a review of the AWI rules LIght Bobs by Day of Battle Games link It is not a highly detailed review but rather a collection of my impressions. |

I am working my way through the book. I'm not that far into it, but I agree that format and editing are a problem. |

I would recommend that you put some figures (or markers) on the table top as you read through the rules and try out each bit. I rad through the rules once and was confused; I put out figures, walked through them again moving the figures and running through each section as if it was a game and it all fell into place. |

I am going to read through them one time, and then go back and play through them. I think there are some good concepts in there, but they are hard to decipher. |

I would like to clarify one bit on unit size that may be confusing to the reader of this wonderful review. Foot Units are 4-12 figures strong Elite = 4 @ 2d6 per figure Veteran = 6 @ 1d6 per figure Average = 8 @ 1/2d6 per figure Poor and most Militia = 12 @1/3d6 per figure shooing and 1/4d6 per figure in melee Cavalry use half the number of figures as infantry but roll double the equivalent infantry unit would roll. For example an elite unit of 4 figures would roll x2d6 for 8 dice An elite cavalry unit would have 2 figures but would roll 4d6 per trooper. Hope this clears things up just a little bit. |

Greenknight4 is correct about what the rules say for unit sizes. What I mention in my review is my own "tweak" to creat a visual effect that work for me when it comes to unit sizes. I hope that didn't confuse anyone in my rules review. |

Private Matter I wanted to let you know I liked your idea for a different approach to unit portrayal. Perhaps you could write it up and let me place it on the website? Chris |

Not sure I understand the tweak described on the log page. What I'm undertsanding is that each unit is comprised of 12 figures, yet how to go from there is what I'm not comprehending. Maybe a visual regarding the chart could help, or the info on the chart, the latter if it's not difficult to provide. |

Each unit is not 12 figures in the rules. His tweak is that he has made each unit 12 figures. The unit sizes are my biggest problem with the rules. I will give them a try as is, but I envision making my own house rules regarding the matter. |

I will right up my house rules regarding unit sizes sometime this weekend when I get the chance. That might clarify what I briefly described in m review. |
