Events pledged for the Weekend 2016 have taken off like a rocket. Perhaps it's the "Science Fiction Games" theme, perhaps not. So far in the first two days it is open we have the following Games.

"TIME" Gm: Otto Schmidt, a game of galactic expansion and civilization across epochs and eons. The winner is the player who can build up three planets with starfaring capability thus ensuring his race cannot be wiped out by a galactic or interstellar catastrophe.

"Alien Invasion" GM: Jim McWee Something about big bug-like things coming out of people's chests and eating everything in sight.

"After the Holocoust" Updated and remodeled game which takes the old SPI turkey from the Seventies and makes it a great, fun thoroughly enjoyable game. GM Tracy Johnson. Come and play one of the factions vying for domination of a resurrected America, "The New Nordic Church of the Chosen People of the Master Race," The Golden Knights of the Lost Cause" The Legions of the Magic Kingdom, or the Five Families of new York. As you can see the Society of Daisy has gotten it's hooks into this one.

"The Battle of Balihoo- The Seven Years War in India with the Mahabajaharimba Confederacy against the Bollybojangles Kingdom and their European Allies. Perhaps the marauding Mongolian people the Upchuks might make an appearance. GM Otto Schmidt

"Possible Conquistadores of Space" GM Gary Richards

"The Battle of Billsburg: The Martians get Punny:
GM Carl West.

Eric Turner has volunteered a game, undecided as yet. We ahsll see what he comes up with.

As more games come along we shall update you.

Otto,

I'll probably put on a Victorian Science Fiction game with the Prussian, Japanese and British empires vying for control of Mars. But when the colonial shenanigans get too close to the Martian Holy Centers, then a full blown Martian revolt is in order. Steam tanks, steam powered walkers, Martian flyers, malfunctioning robots, monsters and psychic snails all add to the silliness. Rules will be the the easily learned GASLIGHT variety.

How about Pickett's charge – but with confederate zombies? Or should we save that for an HMGS convention?

TheKing: only if you make sure a particular gamer is there to appreciate the historical accuracy.

Dear The King30

You may put on whatever game you wish at "The Weekend." The Sci-Fi theme is merely something to slap on the cover of the quarterly update bulletins and the 48 page full color, after Action Report / Keepsake booklet which we publish after the convention giving battle reports of each game and humorous and usefull articles.

Themes don't mean much at any time. People put on the games they want to put on, regardless of "the theme." The other reason is that we are pretty much tapped out of historical turkey's in film in other periods so we figured this year we'd put on two absolutely horrible sci-fi films for our Military Science Theater 2000 event.

The full name of "The Weekend" this year is "The Weekend: Space Babes!"

Not to be rushing things, Otto, but are there firm dates for The Weekend 2016?
