Beautifully done, I'm really impressed. Based on the second photo above, that may not be the best place for a flagpole, though. Grelber |

Cute. Ammunition storage may be challenge, though. |

that may not be the best place for a flagpole, though. Interesting. When Captain Darling was sharing this with LAF last April, no one commented on that. It was obvious in the piccies he'd put up. Ammunition storage? How about all that coal! ;->= I'd have to suggest a read of Major General Reddering on questions of vehicular scale, though. Doug |

Wow harsh crowd, I didn't know this had been posted here. Anyway don't fear the Union Jack is safe, when the HMLS Dreadnought enters combat in true naval style the order is given 'to clear the decks for action' as part of this process the gunnery officer has a hand wheel just to his right which when turned via the magic of gears and pulleys retracts the ceremonial flag, a naval battle flag can be run up the main mast if required. Regarding fuel the power plant is a very compact unit (patent pending I believe) which is highly fuel efficient so fuel storage required for a 'standard' sortie is minimal. Plus as with all mechanised forces victuals vehicles accompany these units so resupply is never far away. Ammunition is always at a premium when in action so I have salvo limits for each turret when gaming and again a ship can retire for resupply (sort of like real life). These are built for fun and are, as the board title suggests 'fictional'. I like them and will continue building and using them, no further reading required :-)… |

…no further reading required… The jist of the good Major General's dictums was 'don't worry about it…' ;->= Though specifically about a naval ironclad, he said 'The model is simply a symbolic placeholder for the ship, in a game with a tremendously compressed ground scale.' Doug |
