"According to Roderick Spode, every Englishman should have in his possession an honest, British-made bicycle. Surely everyone had a bicycle in the 1930s, but what about their 28mm counterparts? The trouble is, do you really want to double the size of your VBCW collection by making bicycle mounted versions of all your troops? Sure, Wargames Foundry and Warlord Games both do infantry on pushbikes (I have a unit made out of these figures), but even so…"

I'm not sure that I would be using my bike as cover while shooting at someone. Otherwise, very cool idea. |

Great looking figures. Thanks for the idea of having dismounted bikers instead of doing mounted and dismounted. I have already done the double dutch system :( I was thinking of having a third set of deserted cycles, like dismounted horses for dragoons. Would some of the unit be detached to guard them? Redoubt and Company B also make nice bicycle units. Easy to convert to VBCW from Great War and Japanese respectively. |

JP, who did these (see his Hereford 1938 blog link ) is padding out his AVBCW much like me with cavalry and bicycles. As we game AVBCW in Hereford, we consider that this rural county has even fewer vehicles than many, and even less access to fuel. I've already warned him that any cyclist without bicycle clips painted on will suffer a -1 movement penalty as the baggy trousers will get caught in the wheels/bike chain. ;-) |

Maybe you would have to take a turn to padlock unpadlock them. What about punctures? |
