As the 4th of July holiday approaches here in the US, we wanted to share the latest information about Larry Brom.

We have almost completed his twice-yearly doctors' check-ups at Ochsner Medical Center and he is in very good physical shape. His heart is fine as are his other vitals. Dad's lost some weight while at the rehab/nursing home but that is because he's a very picky eater. Our last appointment is in mid-August after which he won't have appointments until January 2016.

What we still have is an on-going problem with depression and some residual pain from his broken femur of a year ago. This added to his refusal to cooperate as is needed means he has to remain where he is. But we have finally made some headway with the Veteran's Administration here in New Orleans via Dad's membership in the Military Order of the Purple Heart organization. They have a great support system for their members and through them we were able to find an excellent Patient Advocate at the VA. We are exploring all avenues for Dad's future care but it's still a long process.

For that reason, we are asking you to again help us by sharing our GoFundMe site with others who may not have known of it in the beginning. The support we've gotten the past 3 months has been overwhelming and humbling. As we said, Dad is always interested in anything wargame-related so we really appreciate your emails and cards.

Hang in there, Lori and Christy, and know the thoughts and prayers of many are with you two and your dad. Lets hope Larry will take a turn for the better. Having already donated a few times and spread the word on a couple of other forums I am thinking about other ways to garner some new donations for your Gofundme campaign. I have an idea to possibly put a terrain piece up for auction, with whatever money comes in going there. I may connect it to Colonial Barracks so I can just hand deliver the piece to the winner. Hopefully I can work it out.

Meanwhile HAPPY 4TH OF JULY to the entire Brom family -- Lori, Christy, and of course the patriarch to all us TSATF gamers, Larry himself!
