Can anyone help me with telling the differences between these two versions. Both seem to have plenty of welding lines on their turrets. I have seen pictures and models of both but can not find the defining difference.

Welded was indeed fully welded, from plates.
Casted had the walls casted, and roof still welded to the walls. Casted had slightly thicker armor (52 mm), welded has 45 mm armor, but in terms of armor efficiency they were about thje same.
There were ca. 2000 stamped turrets, stamped apart of gun face element.

You don't want to weld your turrets – they won't turn! grin
