A batrep of my Black Powder recreation of D'Erlon's assault can be seen here: link
But this time, with the wisdom of hindsight, the Divisons go in in Battalion Columns, and Jacquinot is on hand to delay the Union Brigade! |

Greetings from the sunny Auvergne. Great looking game! You put a lot of effort into the game and the write-up and I enjoyed seeing acres of troops on the table. Logistically challenging for a solo game?! Cheers, Paul |

Hi Fons – Lol! Yes, I suppose technically the assault succeeded in breaking through, but with absolutely nothing left in hand… If the Young Guard hadn't been busy elsewhere…. Hi Paul, Thanks mate. Well actually the benefit of a solo game 'çhez nous' is that you aren't transporting a carload of troops around the place, and can take your time setting up…much more relaxing! |

In reality I think it could have succeeded is it had been supported on the flanks and to the front by horse artillery, cavalry and a huge number of skirmishes. Personally I don't think Napoleon had the assets on hand to pull it off |

No I agree Mikasa, the more I play Waterloo from the French perspective the more I conclude the battle is unwinnable for them, once you establish the Allied contingents will fight just as hard as the British and Germans, and that the Prussians will arrive from mid afternoon… |
