This has to be the stupidest habit that TMP is acquiring from the outside world. You take a quote from someone. Frame it in the appropriate thingies, and then change the wording to suit what you think it should say. I see it a lot on Frothers. It may be elsewhere on da Interwebs, but I don't get out much. The "quoter" than puts in an emoticon showing how witty he thinks he is. At least he doesn't use the lame and tired ROFLMFAO. Come on people. Let's not spread that here. THIS. IS. TMP! Not "that other site". Let's not imitate their stupid idea of wit. Let's keep our own stupid brand of wit. Hi Connard! |

When I clicked on this thread, I knew it was going to be Winston and I knew what the absolute first response was going to be :-) |

It's not just the internet. Many Pakistanis are convinced that Jinnah (their founder) was a devout Muslim, rather than the secular chap he actually was. Likewise folks running Turkey are morphing Ataturk into a islamist. He's rolling in his tomb. I can think of more examples but don't want to spray the woodwork. |

Well. There you go, then. |

We seriously need a guessing game called "TMP bug or intentional post?" |

In the past, wasn't twisting other peoples words and actions (past, present, or future) to your advantage part of the art of rhetoric. Still, it's good to see Winston 'Honest Joe' Smith is watching out for it. keep up the good work, James |

The moderator is clearly not aware of British idiosyncracies. One of them is that the Guardian is commonly known as 'The Grauniad' due to its famously laissez-faire approach to spelling: "The paper's nickname The Grauniad (sometimes abbreviated as "Graun") originated with the satirical magazine Private Eye. This anagram played on The Guardian's early reputation for frequent typographical errors, including misspelling its own name as The Gaurdian." link To Doghouse SM for referring to this well-known and well-satirised affectation is bloody silly. Please release SM this instant. |

As JF wrote; SM was making quite a witty joke & no political baggage was included. He should be released forthwith. |

May as well talk to yourself Ochoin… I see that SM's post has been completely erased, so they must have read our posts and must either not understand or simply disagree with us. Moderator, if you're not going to release SM, shouldn't you have doghoused me for 'criticising a news source'? Though I know that consistency and comprehension aren't your strong suits… |

A while ago there was a suggestion to do away with dawghousing. I like to support that suggestion. With a member dawghoused there used to be a link to the reason of it. However, clicking on the link did not result on the original text which (according to Jemima Fawr) has been completely erased. If even the reason for DH disappears, then what rests as reason for DH ? BTW, Mako11, even while English is not my first language, I can still easily guess about the meaning of the "F" in your critized "ROFLMAO (not ROFLMFAO).". Mentioning this aloud probably will DH me, so perhaps you can guess again… |

All he said was "I thought it was how The Guardian spells "FIFTY"……" |
