So rumors are about perry chasseur a cheval plastic set, that vil cover more then just Waterloo (unlike warlord ) But what about them making british heavy dragoon plastic box set? Its the only one missing to be able to do all British cav in plastic. I would hope this fantasy box set would let you make both peninsula and waterloo heavies. Not sure just how much you have to add to the box, to be able to make, horse guards, dragoon guards and royal dragoons, AND scots grey. |

Perry Plastic Heavies? Bound to happen – I've just had to buy and paint up 6 regiments of metal heavies for our W200 project, so of course they'll now come out in plastic! |

Perhaps when it comes to heavy cavalry nations like the British simply did not field enough to warrant releasing boxes of plastic figures? After all, the French had hordes of cuirassiers but the British had, what, 3 regiments of heavies at Waterloo? |

Yes, don't forget Somerset's lads…the Household Brigade. The Union Brigade gets all the fuss, but if the Guards had not swept away the Cuirassiers on d'Erlon's left……….. |

And they were used in Spain! Like the glorious charge of 2500 heavy dragoons at Salamanca |

If I could have anything plastic in cavalry, I would take something with long coat tails, the cutaway lapels of pre Bardin and heavy jackboots, but a separate head. This opens up conversion possibilities to many earlier French units (esp dragoons, carabiniers), Guard units such as Grenadiers, Dragoons, Gen d'Elite (obviously), Spanish cavalry etc etc. Ideally do not overdo fringed epaulettes, aigulettes etc to make life easier…… No one does them. Even in metal they are harder to find than the closed lapels of post Bardin |

For conversion potential, I'd love any set of light cavalry which had pointed-end saddle cloths. I could do so much with those. Austrian, Russian, etc. |

Get some Greenstuff. Seriously, you can beat "the best" (no names, we all know whom I mean) with folds in the cloth, the double lace edging, the eagle or lettering. I do agree with you, but can understand the manufacturers' problem, as the "main" countries used these pointed shabraques for occifers and elite only |

Only going to happen if that can do like the light dragoons and cover peninsula too….trouble is not very many heaven Regt in peninsula Better off doing plastic French artillery better than the forth coming Victrix set…. |
Lord Hill | 28 Jun 2015 12:34 p.m. PST |
Footslogger, I agree completely – on several occasions recently my exciting new conversion idea has been thwarted on learning that pointed-end saddle cloths are needed. I also wish somebody would make a generic set of plastic horses with horse & musket bridles that could be used for all sorts of conversions(making my own saddles etc with greenstuff). Having half the horses standing not charging would be useful too. I doubt such a set will ever be made but we can but dream! |
