Check this thread : TMP link

My post has a nice link that lists Vallejo colors.

If you have a minute, search for "horse" in titles in the forums here--you'll find a wealth of information.

Using craft paints:
Decoart Americana Khaki Tan (KT)
Decoart Americana Mississipi Mud (MM)
Decoart Americana Primary Yellow (PY)

Ratio (in "drops", delivered either by brush or from the tube)
KT: 1/MM: 1/PY: very small amount, I mix tiny points in until it gets to the color that I see as buckskin.

Nice painting guide, but your horse with the white socks is a dark bay. for a horse to be classed as being black there can't be any other colour on it.

In all my years of riding and the 1000's of race horses i sat in the 80's and 90's i think i only seen 2 which have been classed as being black on their passports
