Today from Brigade towers come the Polski's, i believe that they are the ex- Army Armies White Russian figures and as usual Tony has given them a nice choice of color scheme and a impressive paint job. :) Zac

Poland has had a fraught time since the creation of the modern state (the Second Republic) at the end of the Great War. Acting as a buffer zone between Germany and the Soviet Union/Russia, it was invaded by both countries at the same time in 1939. It spent then the next fifty years either occupied or as a satellite communist state before gaining proper independence in 1989. Looking into the future, in the Iron Cow universe in which our science-fiction ranges are set, Poland still retains its border status between Germany and the rest of the Organisation of North European Sovereign States (ONESS) to the west, and the Neo-Soviet Union to the east.
Polish troops are forever on their guard and fight constant skirmishes with Soviet forces along the border. Some of these break out into larger battles but attract little attention in the rest of the world, such is their frequency. Beyond the odd abandoned border town changing hands, often several times, nothing much upsets the status quo. The Poles know that they are nowhere near strong enough to take the fight to the Soviets, who for their part are well aware that any escalation in the intensity of the conflict will bring the forces of Britain, Germany and the other ONESS states into action.

I like them so much that I just bought the 25 man infantry platoon. Now I need to find some suitable figures to convert as support weapon crew.

The prone spotter from the HMG pack and the two kneeling troopers from the Command Section pack would provide you with a good looking support weapon crew (a spotter with monocular, a weapons operator with laptop and a NCO checking the time for the next salvo). I am also very taken by these figures mind you i have liked them ever since Keith first showed me them, i might also have to treat myself to a infantry platoon. :)

Great idea AVAMANGO. At only £10.43 GBP (including postage) for 25 miniatures I couldn't resist the platoon deal.

And I've just spotted this tank that I think will work really well with them.

edit: tank is also from Brigade Models link

I think Mr Mango may already know where to get the tank… :)

Yeah you're right erraticassassin. I just stuck the link in for others who might not know where it was from.

Hmmm i must say that it does look familiar… ;) however i already have the tanks or i should say tankettes for these guys, i plan you use these troops for a assault airborne detachment with gunship support thanks to a Rebel miniatures Hind vtol. The Tankettes have been made up from the now OOP metal German Baldur Light GEV tanks from Brigade models with a newer Tassigny MICV turret mounted on a 18mm washer to give the vehicle a little extra height as the older metal models from Brigade are a bit on the small side mainly due to scale creep, but this works out really well as these custom tankettes are small enough to be air dropped along side the troops creating a highly mobile, fast attacking force. :) Zac

Hmmm, I feel like I'm missing something. AVAMANGO are you affiliated with Brigade Models in some way?

In other news, my infantry platoon arrived in the post today and they are beautiful sculpts and well cast. I've already started basing them ready for painting. The only problem… I think I need more.

No not really its just that i have done some freelance work for them in the past. :)

Rusty Cyborg01 Jul 2015 1:39 a.m. PST

Ah now I get it :)

AVAMANGO01 Jul 2015 4:17 a.m. PST

I just received my Polish Infantry Platoon in the post this morning and I've only had a quick look at them but from what i saw they are very clean and well cast figures. When i get home later i will have a better look but i very much doubt i'll be disappointed in them, its been said before but Brigade models seem to just be going from strength to strength the past couple of years. :)
