They are great mate, really like the use of the Foundry Austrian Uhlans for the 3rd Silesian Landwehr.what blue did you use for them? Got me thinking now. |

Very nicely done units, especially the 3rd Silesian LW Cav. I didn't realize that they wore a uniform very similar to the Austrian uhlans. Jim |

Thanks gents. Yes, I was looking at the Mont St. Jean website and realized the Foundry Austrian Uhlan figures were very similar. When I pulled them out of my lead pile, low and behold almost identical. I had to do some carving on the epaulets, and there is no cross on the zapka. Other than that they are the same. link Paxx88, I used Liqutex soft body Prussian blue, which is very dark and Americana true blue mixed. One drop each base, one Liquitex and two Americana first highlight; one Liquitex and three Americana second highlight. |

Very nicely done units, especially the 3rd Silesian LW Cav. I didn't realize that they wore a uniform very similar to the Austrian uhlans. I had always understood that they used captured Polish uniforms. |

Lovely work. Calpe are definitely my favourite, but those Foundry conversions came out very well. |

Very nice painting! I note that Knotel's presentation of the 3rd Silesian Ldwr Cavalry differs little from the Mont St. Jean site.

Good observation Greystreak. Funny I had 3 horses with square Shabraques and three with rounded. I really didn't worry about it too much. Also the lance pennons are GMB, the ones I had. Being frugal, buying a whole bunch more with shipping from Britain seemed a tad expensive. I know I will be ordering from them again sometime in the future and will probably replace these ones. No one in our group will notice or care anyway. :) Next on the painting table are two regiments of Calpe Dragoons. Thanks for all your kind comments gents. I will be selling some Calpe British Shako Landwehr cavalry soon, so if any of you are interested, send me a PM. |
