So, from just Miniature Figurenes (Minifigs) ranges that are either Fantasy or Science Fiction (so not the spaceships!!) what is your favourite figure? To avoid the obvious should we leave out the "big sets" like the skeleton bell tower and the wind demon cart ? Ranges to pick from are Mythical Earth(ME), Swords and Sorcery(SS), Dungeons and Dragons (various codes ELF, ORC etc), Valley of the Four Winds (VFW), Aurello Rocco (AR), first SF range (SF) and second SF range (also SF – but very different sculpts.) My choice for SF : Vertos Roboman
My choice for fantasy : so tough, got to be a swamploord I think, but which one ?? No – let's go for Hero (of the Good People)
How about you ? |

Not sure I ever owned any. |

The original of the Hero with Dragonslayer polearm had a much longer pole (useful for attacking dragons!) but they were very prone to snapping so they had to remold the figure to remove the weakness. |

Hard choice. I love the entire VoFW lines. Still one of the most unusual line of figs every created. If I had to chose just one I go for the ME34 Ithilien Archer from Mythic Earth. link One of the first 5 figures I ever owned. |

That's a lovely figure !
And it is exactly as described by Tolkien ! |

Possibly the Wind Demon set……
Caliver books are re-releasing loads of these and have found unreleased pieces as well…..a good time to be old school like myself. |

Also a nice thread on LAF about a VFW Hero figure that was never produced…..looking at it I can understand why but still want one!

A Puckleman – I never knew what it was, but the photograph in the Minifig catalogue always intrigued me. At the time I couldn't afford to buy something I couldn't use. If anyone has one for sale, I would buy it now. Nic EUREKA MINIATURES |

This one Nic? I'll have a look but most of my stuff is currently in storage. If I can find one it's yours.

I bought up the end of line stock of that figure in Minifigs-Skytrex (the joint shop in central London) – well 5p ( £0.05 GBP ) a go was just too tempting. It looked nothing like a pukelman – so I painted them up as Haradrim ! I also got their whole stock of Gollums (!) – they started out as supplemental aliens to go with the SF range, later on they became Deep Ones !
The last 21 Balrogs got "converted" into Orcs! 5p a figure really helped to stretch out £1.00 GBP a week pocket money….

I'm still hoping that we'll find the Balrog and nazgul, still my early favourites. Added another 20 or so to the catalogue the other day |

Dave. When I get back to the USA, I will let you know. I have the master molds and most of the master figures (Tank figs) for all of those- including the spacemen. I started remolding the AR ranges before I had to close. v/r Tom Dye Ex-GFI |

Minifigs D&D Dwarves and Goblins. The dwarves were the first fantasy figures I ever owned. They have been fighting the goblins off and on since 1977. They are my favourite opponents.

My favourite is the Hunter and his Hounds set from the Valley of the Four Winds range.
I think it is a work of art. Sadly I have never succeeded in painting it well enough to do it justice. |

That's really nice, as far as I recall I never bought that set. Wish I had. |

Nic – couldn't find them on my days off but will keep looking. So much in storage following divorce! |

I had very few Minifigs fantasy being swayed by Asgard for barbarians and Citadel/Ral Partha for the rest. The mounted Death Dealer figure was a cracker though,no idea what it code went by. |
20thmaine | 15 Jul 2015 5:18 a.m. PST |
One of my all time favourite figures was Asgard's Chaos DoomGuard – just perfect for Michael Moorcock inspired games….if I could have afforded enough! |

Love these ranges -truly fantastical. I think you started off with one of my favs -the Roboman but really too many to choose from. Always liked the Aquila and Cehan figures. Oh and of course this one.
