As a button counted, I am pleased to see that the grenadiers have a leather brim below the brass plate on the front of the bearskin! A true feature of the 8eme de ligne!

I WONDER IF THE FOLKS WHO DID THIS PIECE HAVE ANY OTHER SPECIFICS ABOUT THE 8EME. I WOULD LOVE TO KNOW WHAT THE DRUMMERS WORE, OR SAPEURS.

I recall seeing the eagle party in full dress, two sergeants with bearskins, and the officer as well. All had red cuffs edged white, with a simple red edge where the sleeve opened – no cuff flaps. Another 8eme feature.
