link In regards to Doc's earlier post, I'm posting a link to my photobucket album that shows some examples of how I fix broken bayonets/rifles with solder.

I am impressed! Is the sling on the ACW figure also made from solder? |

Thanks Doc. I made the sling with a mold sprue, but a thin strip of anything would do, I suppose. On the Confederals, I used the broken off rifle to make the sling. Just flattened it with a pair of pliers. |

As you can see, the technique is not limited to bayonets. Swords, pistols, arms & legs etc., are possible. With the Hinchcliffe ECW cavalry, I first clipped away the sword that is cast onto the right leg of the figure (ECWC1 & 5). Then, using the same method, forming a sturdy sword. I usually go back with an Exacto and shape/ flatten the swords. The Minifig Dervish with the two handed sword overhead, clipped away both arms & formed new ones & the sword. |
