Added an additional three tanks to my Panther force, so that I now have a complete company. For the most part these are stock BF Panther miniatures, except for the "012" Panther Ausf. G to which I added anti-aircraft armor over the turret and engine deck. This was actually really easy to do – I simply used .40" plasticard cut to shape. More info and pics with the existing Panthers below: link |

I never heard of antiaircraft armor before. Do you have any links to substantiate this? |

Google "Panther Anti Aircraft Armor". It was stand-off plating to protect the crew and engine from Allied aircraft strafing runs. link |

Nice work. Those little additional details make them more interesting. |

Great job on them. My favorite is the middle one. How long did it take you? |

All in, they probably took 7 hours. But, that was spread over multiple sittings and a lot was done while I was multi-tasking. I have a 3 year old who takes up most of my free time, but he likes to watch me paint miniatures so long as he's also painting (pictures) |

'Panther Anti Aircraft Armour' Gosh, you learn something new every day. |

Yep, it's an awesome, little-known "upgrade" it seems. I forgot how I stumbled across it, but I immediately thought "I have to do this in miniature!". I'll probably end up doing this conversion for my 1/56 Panthers for BA |

Wow thats pretty fast with that level of quality. Did you use a airbrush for the camo? |
Yourbitterpill | 24 Jun 2015 6:51 a.m. PST |
Yes, I use an airbrush to lay down basecoats for the camouflage |

Cool. I think airbrushed camo looks the best. |
