can't see how this is not going to be a winner.

This is proving to be a very expensive time of year!

Yes they look great!

£25.00 GBP for three guns with crew. From Perry that would cost £27.00 GBP, not much of a bargain buying plastics anymore. However they do look really nice! Don't know what to do with the excessive crew minis tho, and where to get an howitzer to complete the battery.

This is true Skatey, but I'm still getting four sets (3 batteries) as soon as their post 1812 set comes up. I think these are quite possibly nicer, with more choice of pose and uniform, and also lighter which is important when it comes to transporting masses of them. Surprised they didn't include a howitzer barrel though?

The did include howitzer in the british arty ox?!

STEVE LBMS22 Jun 2015 4:18 p.m. PST

There will be a howitzer barrel option in the 1812 to 1815 year XI set. A six pounder with 5.5 inch howitzer option. There was not much difference in the carriage for the year XI system but the Gribaeuval has a very different shaped gun carriage for the howitzer compared to the 8 and 12 pounder versions.

I will post some renders of the year XI guns pretty soon.

Regards,

Steve.

Looking at some pictures, the Gribaeuval howitzer had a straight carriage. Interesting … never knew that before. Oh well, will have to buy a box of the post-1812 artillery and use the howitzers from that set. All good.

Ah interesting thanks for the information Steve.

I was thinking of upgrading my French Guard Artillery – 30 year old Hinchliffe are nice and retro but….these could be just the ticket.
