If you are collecting 28mm figures, I suggest a look at the Knuckleduster site for mounted Kentucky Volunteers. He has some painted ones as well to show.
I have a plate of Kentucky Volunteers from the War of 1812 Uniform site that shows the uniforms and two flags (but not the horse furniture). This informative site is in French and now has a lot of annoying pop ads (my security software warms me off it). However his plates are accurate for the most part and Olivier frequently has his sources listed.
If you do not want to risk his site, I can email a copy of the plate as a word document to you.
Also, in copy of Military Uniforms in America: Vol II Years of Growth, 1796-1851, The Company of Military Historians." pg 50 51 has full page plate of Johnson's Kentucky Mounted Volunteers and page of text describing the uniforms etc.
"…one pair of saddle bags and a bag, a strong hardy horse of value 60 or 70 dollars, 2 blankets, one under the other over the saddle…" there is more descriptive text.
I hope this helps. Let us know how your project develops.
