I had a go at doing Ligny the other day using my 6mm Napoleonics and Polemos rules: here is the AAR: link |

Very nice. Everything you have done. Those 6mm figures go very well and look nice. The AAR had everything. Thanks. |

Very nice looking game. What does a rout actually do in this system? Can a force come back from a rout and does in contribute towards an overall failure of the army? |

What does a rout actually do in this system? Can a force come back from a rout and does in contribute towards an overall failure of the army? Individual units can become shaken (which they can be railled from) and routed/broken (which they can't). If enough individual units become shaken or routed, then the whole formation (brigade/division/corps/wing etc.) they are part of may become 'spent': i.e. hors de combat. must retreat from the table. Every time a formation becomes spent, this reduces the army's morale. The army will have 2.5 morale points for each independent formation it has. So Blucher's Army of 4 Corps will have a morale of 10. Every time one of its formations becomes spent, D6 army morale points are lost, so the Army as a whole may break after 2 formations are lost, or it may survive until all 4 are broken. Very nice. How big was your table? Thank you! It is a 5'x3' table. |

I like that collective effect that shows 'eventual' deterioration. I have the rules somewhere (old hard-drive?) as a PDF and I remember the set-up always looked cramped, with set-up squares filled with units. Your opening shot looked like that and then within a turn the whole thing just opened up. I think I may have discounted the rules (based largely on how the scenarios look like that at set-up) prematurely. thanks. |
