Did the French Garde units at Rocroi – Gardes Francaises, Gardes Ecossais and the cavalry regts – wear uniforms?

Did they wear cassocks over ordinary clothes like the Mousquetaires du Roi?

Anyone know?

The Garde Francaises was not at the battle and the mounted Guard units were absent as well. The "Gardes du Duc" was Enghiens personal guard and not part of of the Masion du Roi.

The Scots were probably not a guard unit at all, it is a case of mistaken identity originating in writers refering to the regiment simply as "Ecossais" and later day historians attaching the Garde in front when interpreting the sources. (Much like Hepburn's earlier command in Swedish service, the Green regiment, was turned into a Scots regiment) More detailed documents refer to it as Régiment de Hebron and after the death of Hepburn as the Régiment de Douglas after the new colonel. No evidence of them wearing uniforms as far as I known.
