So 1st and 3rd battalion of russian infantry had different pompoms. But so did hussar squadrons? I've tried to find the differences on google but cant find them. |

I donīt believe they did, but from what I have read the second battalion had red braids on the shako rather than white. |

Information I have is: White, lt. Blue, yellow, black, dk. Green for the 1st 5 squdrons, then repeated over red for the next five. Cords according to regt. Lace colour. |

vaughan does your source specify year? I donīt recall now where I read about the red braid, but I think it covered post 1812. |

A quick look suggests the 1812 kiwer may in some cases have had red cords. |

Only two regiments haved red braids and cords.. Elizavetgrad and Pavlograd hussars. |
