Come on. The first time you saw this movie, you had a big stupid grin on your face. And then you imagined building an army.

So, what figures would you recommend for British sergeants, wearing hairy poshteens. Mounted and on foot.

Then, the fine burghers of Er-heb etc. Some armed with Martinis , the vast bulk with pikes, crappy swords, etc.
They are not EXACTLY NW Frontier chaps.

Have you dreamed of gaming this?

darthfozzywig19 Jun 2015 8:03 p.m. PST

I still dream of doing it, let alone gaming it.

The new-ish Artizan NWF range has a pack of NCOs on foot with Martinis, two of them in poshteens. (There's also a foot officer pack with two in poshteens and armed with revolvers.)

Splendid idea!

WAs the "Man Who Would be King" contemporary with "Gunga Din."

If so, it is even more reason to build an army.

Winston Smith19 Jun 2015 11:04 p.m. PST

Oh, the monks too.

Artizan's NWF in poshteens would work.

What about Billy Fish?

"Oh, I've told them all about you British.
How you take hats off to women, give names to dogs and march into battle left, right left, right,,,"

"They are very ignorant,,,"

One of my favorite movies. Always wanted to game it myself.

Another note. Some of my figs maybe useful. The multiparty infantry in particular.

I'm not sure about rank and file figures, but for character models take a look at Warlord Games' "Hollywood Rorke's Drift" set. They have a pretty convincing Michael Caine figure that might work for his character in that film as well.

Doesn't Pulp Figures make a "Billy Fish" in their "sidekicks" set?

Michael Cane figure from Zulu would work perfectly.

Surprised nobody has made a "Not TMWWBK" line?

What a great movie to game TSATF with!

Does anyone make Chitralis in 25/28mm? I'm not too fussy to use Ral Partha Pathans for both sides and RP Zulu War Brits for Sean and Michael and let my imagination do the rest. Oh not to forget a RP Gurkha in green for Billy.

Billy Fish: "He wants to know if you are gods."

Peachy Carnehan: "Not gods – Englishmen. The next best thing."
