Do fellow TMPers have an opinion as to whether a new board concentrating on gaming gang-wars and riot situations is required or not? ACW draft rioters, Gangs of New York, Al Capone, 1970s movie gangs, etc. etc |

It's certainly a genre I want to get into, so I would support a board,but agree with the above. |

I'm with Weasel; I'd rather see it remain in its respective periods. Fr'instance, two of my "Maybe, Some Day" interests are the civil unrest of the mid-19th Century (e.g. 1848) and post-Great War (e.g. Germany, Baltic States, etc.). I would mostly be concerned with the scenarios, suitable figures, print and web resources, etc. I expect that not only would I find more resources in the respective period boards, I also think I might find a more receptive audience for what I could possibly contribute. |

I support the idea of a new board. If we could split that new board into several new boards, that is even better. Anything that adds to the general confusion is good by me. |

Hi Ditto Tango 2 3, Usually front page, then check where I have posted, then look at what I think may be the boards that could answer a question of interest. I recently posted on gangs from the movie "Warriors" and was informed of two TMP threads on the same subject, one had been posted only three months ago! It was posted on the SciFi and the Post Apocalypse boards – I would never have looked there for 1970s gang games! Just don't want to miss out on such discussions in future, hence a dedicated gang board or …a decent indexing / crossposting system  |

Yes! By all means! And for the very reasons (among others) cited by Captain DEwell, above. The nature of riots, criminal gangs, etc, are universal, and not limited to or defined by "periods." If I want (and sometimes do) to see what's going on regarding Roman Chariot Team riots in order to see if any of those ideas relate to my rules for "West Side Story," it's should be obvious that the basic topic--riots/gangs--is what I need to look at, rather than fish blindly through the ages.
