My first attempts at Africa Korps from Perry miniatures

picture
lively little figures with nice animation, a little smaller than I'm used to but I think I managed it.
Feedback welcome
Thanks for looking cheers for now Russ

They look very nice. Great job.

feedback welcome? Keep a few of the bases grass free. The hard surfaces that you have produced are incredibly good on their own, they don't all need to have grass. IMHO peace

I like them. A lot.

Well done.

Oddball19 Jun 2015 4:11 a.m. PST

Fantastic job.

Do you take contact work for other peoples miniatures?

You brought these little gems to life, inspiring me to start assembling mine. Lining up the paint selection in the background allowed you to exceed the photo word limit of "a thousand words". Well done.

Really great job on those, Russ. I don't even mind the grass on the bases. Maybe they're in Tunisia…

Zargon19 Jun 2015 7:33 a.m. PST

LOL You call that an attempt? :) think I'll call you being a bit of a fibber.
Cheers very well done

I particularly admire the way you've varied the shades of the uniforms!

Top notch, from hat to base!

wrgmr119 Jun 2015 9:40 a.m. PST

Very nice.

Thank you all for your comments and feedback. Once again I am overwhelmed by the responses I do appreciate every one taking the time to look and even more so when people comment.

Blue Dalek, I have flocked bases to one degree or another for many many years and I think it was more habit rather than anything else! so going forward I will curb my enthusiasm. Less is more as they say.

Phillius, thank you also I must admit I enjoyed painting them a lot! they really are lovely figures.

Oddball, now that's a question? the answer is yes! I have thought about it many times. I am always surprised when people would like to own my work, but if any one is interested then I am sure something can be arranged.

Condotta, they are slightly smaller than my usual figure but they are such cracking little figures, they paint up pretty nicely as well. Vallejo paints make painting WW2 easy, well IMHO.

Robby, as always such kind words!! my head will swell and I may never be able to leave the house ever again!

Zargon, I like to think modest rather than a fibber, but once in awhile I surprise myself! and this is one of those times.

Jeff Ewing, thank you also I do like the varied look to my WW2 stuff, and some of the original colours I used didn't quite look right.

Big Red, thank you also, its surprising what you can achieve with a little bit of cat litter and sharp sand.

wrgmr1, thank you also all comments really are appreciated .

So thanks guys, its always a rush when anything I post gets a such a response

thanks again cheers for now
one very humbled Russ

You nailed the tropical uniform. I would have copped out and painted them a sandy/khaki color. grin So mad props to you!

Ironsides19 Jun 2015 5:13 p.m. PST

WOW.

Thanks Guys

Who asked the joker, thanks for the kind words. Some of the first figures looked a little bright colour wise but they seem to have panned out pretty well.

Ironsides, thank you also! they are really nice figures. Cracking detail and easy to paint, what more could you want and a very reasonable price to boot.

Its being a weird couple of days! I have scored my first commission from my local hobby store so things are looking up.

So thanks Guys
cheers for now Russ
