The Napoleonic British Light Dragoons with their General at their head can now be pre-ordered from Perry Miniatures.

I was interested that he was wearing full redcoat gear and not following the light cavalry tendency of wearing hussar regimentals when leading his brigade.

absolutely marvellous!

Was he an ancestor or otherwise related to JOE or Giles Vandeleur of Market Garden fame?

I seem to remember reading somewhere that he was.

Definitely was an ancestor of Michael Caine…..sorry J.O.E.V….cannot remember quite what relation. Look forward to seeing Vandeleur released as part of another trio…..rumours of Somerset I do recall. Vivian in hussar rig maybee too?

Pity. I don't need 42 light dragoons, but I covet the Vandeleur figure.

Here is a link that explains the relationship between the two "John Ormsby" Vandeleurs (great-great-grandfather/son):-

Hoping this fantastic Vandeleur figure, along with the very nice Hussey Vivian figure for the British Hussars pre-order, is made available as part of a British cavalry command pack.

A Vivian figure? Pre Order…………?

I missed him! Really? Somerset we were hinted at on this forum, but never saw a H Viv figure. Got any images?
