Starting to lay out my next game – the Last Stand of Men and Elves, using Lord of the Ring rules with some tweaks to handle the walls. Our Heroes:
Elves (in blue), Rangers (in Green) and Men…
Orc Pikemen hold the left.
Trouble in the center:
Riders of Rohan ready for a desperate sally:
The battlefield from the Orc end…
The Walls (MDF kits from Sally 4th)

Thanks for posting. I have wanted to do just such a scenario, though I have also thought of a version where Good and Evil enter from opposite sides of board, with village in middle, with competing goals of burning houses and killing/saving villagers. |

Very cool. What is the tweak for the walls? Normally to hit someone on the other side of a barrier, you have to pass an "in the way" test(50/50 chance) then roll normal.

The main "tweak" is coming up with a rule for ladders. Haven't quite figured that out yet, but probably something real simple. Pretty much if the orcs get over, good guys lose…. Maybe: Ladder carrier rolls to place. Forlorn hope get bonus move to top, then have to fight up to 2 good guys. If they win they gain the top, otherwise, splat! |

The was a set of siege rules with using ladders and fighting over battlements published in the LOTR – Battle Games magazine issue #29. If you PM me I could send you a scan of that section. |
