"With trademark red beret and armed with Sten and Bren Guns the British Airborne were determined and tenacious, as only the British Tommy can be. Striking German forces with precision and speed during actions at Pegasus Bridge, the Merville Battery and during Operation Market Garden in Arnhem, the Red Devils became legendary. Few divisions in the British Army have earned such a valorous reputation so quickly as the Parachute Division. Known as the Red Devils by the Germans for their trademark maroon berets and dogged fighting ability, the British airborne force grew into a force to be reckoned with, whether delivered by Dakota aircraft, Horsa glider or as front line shock troops…" link Main page link Amicalement Armand |

Lovely paint job on some nice figures, only thing I would say is that the beret looks a little to red for my taste, it reminds me more of a Royal Military Police beret. |

I agree with Jeff. I have a genuine 1944 Para beret and it is not the shade of red Warlord seem to think it is either on their packaging, painted figures or their choice of paint. It's a maroon colour (not scarlet as Warlord seem to think) with a blue bias in the maroon. On my monitor this looks right… link It's not difficult to get right since there are plenty of photos of the real thing. |
