Depends what I'm painting. I try to listen to theme type music when I'm in the shop so today while I was working on GHQ's Iowa I had the soundtrack to Victory At Sea on. Usually have a soundtrack that fits with the type of miniatures I'm working on. Regards, J. P. Kelly |

Funny you should ask… Vivaldi, Four Seasons, or Corelli. especially La Folia. Of late I've been listening to Arabic belly dance music. Sounds strange, I know. But, it is the greatest! |

I will put on a little Clapton, follow him up with some Steely Dan, then go for something like James Taylor….and sometimes it is KISS….Diana Krall and Frank Sinatra, maybe Harry Connick or the Stylistics…..it all depends on my mood. Harry Chapin is good to paint to. |

I've been mining a rich vein of post-rock bands recently. Maybeshewill, Russian Circles, If These Trees Could Talk, Pelican, Caspian. Oddly enough, I am sometimes finding songs with vocals to be irritating. I just want to hear the music. Except if it is in Icelandic of course…Sigur Ros is allowed a pass. :) All through rdio. Man, I love that streaming music service! The algorithms for custom stations are pretty accurate, once you help them out with your likes and dislikes of course. |

3D Radio: this state's foremost subscription-funded independent community radio station. I can tune in almost any time and know I'll be hearing music that's alternative, interesting, obscure, exotic… even bizarre(experimental electronic noise, anyone?). It's my only choice for radio listening; when painting and in the car – unless the rap, hardcore, or prison request shows are on, that is, when I resort to another volunteer staffed community station. |
