Universal carriers soldiered on in the arsenals of a number of nations post-War II. And there is at least one picture on the internet of an Argentinian carrier mounting a recoilless rifle. Can anyone provide any more concrete reference, especially for Commonwealth nations, regarding the use of universal carriers to mount RRs (or indeed any other anti-tank weapon)?
Thanks

Sorry, can't provide any "concrete" info, other than to say the West Germans used them for a while, after WWII, before they got better rides.

Try Google Images.

Not sure this helps, but the French used them in Vietnam. I doubt they were equiped with RCL's, but they did put them on other vehicles. They up-armored & up-gunned every vehicle they could so you never know.

I wouldn't be surprised to see them carrying those, and the early wire-guided ATGMs too.

From the end of WWII to the early 50's seems to be a bit of black hole as far information on the internet goes. The Canadian's appear to have used Oxford Carriers as a tow for the BAT. The closest I've got to Universal Carriers with ATGM is IDF M3's sporting SS10's.

Interesting for the pic of the 6-barrelled RR mounted on a T16 and the little snippet that post WWII Argentina appears to have purchased second hand AFVs for 20c/kg – not sure what military surplus you'd get to day for that price!
