Hi guys, Second game using To the Strongest. These rules are excellent! Great fun with plenty of excitement and the odd expletive. AAR here: link

Beautiful game as always. "To the Strongest" seems very interesting. I do not care for the "Hex/block" movement or the use of playing cards. So I have reservations. Alas I am an old man and we find change frightening. :) Mike B |

Lovely looking minis, James. That standard with the wreath is excellent. Hi Mike, I don't like grids, either, and I wrote the rules! ;-) For me, though, grids are just a lot better than the alternative, measurement. Cards are not essential as some players use 10 sided dice or chits drawn from a bag. I like the cards though as they make the game a bit like playing pontoon, and the arrival of the dreaded Aces are always greeted with a suitable curse. Best, Simon |

James always has great looking figures to put out on the table! |

Lovely figures; nice layout and terrain and good AAR. The pleasures all mine. Thank you |

Hi mbsparta, the grid just delineates the table into defined terrain types and acts as a measuring device. When I visited Partizan and watched Simon's demonstration game I couldn't even see the grid, even though I was looking for it. Grids certainly have the advantage of doing away with dodgy measurement and angle wangling. To the Strongest are an excellent set of fast play, exciting rules that reward good tactics and a good battle plan. Each to their own, of course, but you would be missing a trick if you didn't at least give them a go. Best Regards, James |

Good looking game James. Was that a 10' x 6' setup you had there? Cheers Paul |

Hi Snowcat, Yep, 10 by 6. Of course, with a grid, it's easy to scale up or down. I particularly liked the way the grid enabled the Romans to contest a frontage with maniples in triplex acies – something, being a bit weird compared to everyone else, most rules can't handle. |
