… Undocked by Cochin Shipyard.

"India on June 11th undocked its first indigenously-built aircraft carrier INS Vikrant at Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) in the South West of the country. The ship, built at CSL, will now undergo final outfitting followed by a series of sea trials before its induction into the Indian Navy.

The launch of the 37,500-tonnes, 260 metres long and is 60 metres wide vessel is behind schedule by three years. It is expected to start its sea trials in 2016 before being commissioned into the Indian Navy by the end 2018…"

I like using the Indian fleet in MNB a good selection of capable small ships backed up with a light carrier.

Works for me, for those hypothetical India vs. China naval scenarios.

Appears China will have the edge, unless the Indians switch from Migs to Sukhois too, since the latter usually come off better in any air-to-air battles.

On the what-if board Vietnam allied with US was the suggestion a ASEAN with India and Vietnam vs China in the SCS. That could make for some interesting scenerios. I'm not sure that the Vietnamese army is currently as capable as it was in the mid 70's when it defeated the Chinese. At the moment my gaming interests is mainly naval – so I could ignore the ground war and possibly leave the US, Taiwan and Japan out unless We want to use those models.
