Wargaming banter is neither male nor female, it's for wargamers of any sex. Maybe we should attempt to avoid misogyny in any of our banter.

I don't see a problem with adding more boards to the lounge and plus sections.
My stance against boards is purely for the main sections.

I am normally in favor of more boards, as more biards generally yields in more confusion, and I like to add to the general confusion. However, in this particular case, I feel like the purpose of the newly suggested board is specifically to discriminate along gender lines, and that is a problem to me. I would no sooner want to see gender specific boards than religion specific boards or racial specific boards.

This doesn't require a poll, it should be a gift from Editor Bill to encourage a minority group of wargamers. And then rightly seen as an encouragement to other minorities.

Ladies will always lose out to male dominated voting systems unless the males feel disposed to accomodate ladies with whatever subject is in question. Unless on a possible TMP poll each female vote counts as 100:1 against the male TMP vote.

And, trolling? NO. Compassionate? YES

I think you grossly underestimate the ladies I game with, SWMBO and DOM, included.

There are a number of ladies who have left TMP due to various reasons. Would these boards encourage them to come back? Maybe, but these boards would have to be somehow locked for female posters only. Pretty hard to do on a public forum.

I could identify as a female from the UK but… never mind… If that is granted then you need a "No Gurlz" part of the forum too. A great step backwards IMO. Actually TWO great steps backwards.

There was a time I would have wanted a mixed race/mixed ethnic forum, (there were not many non-white war gamers in the 1950s/1960s FTR,) but I learned to deal with the (then) majority group in my home town and my hobby.
