"A couple of weeks ago Star Wars Armada finally hit the shelves in NZ so I picked up a starter box to check it out (okay, lets be honest I am super excited!).

I'll take time later to take a closer look at the rules, but after a few trial games I am pretty excited. I haven't seen anything mind blowing in there, frankly the remind me of traditional naval wargames but they are fast, fun, furious, have special dice… and you can fly a Star Destroyer! Thats basically all I need…"

After telling myself not to get into this game I splurged and ended up buying the starter and all the Wave 1 releases. So far that's:

Imperial: 2 x Victory class Star Destroyers, 3 x Gladiator class Star Destroyers and 2 x Imperial fighter squadron expansion packs (plus the TIE's from the base set).

Rebel: 2 x MK2 Assault Frigates, 3 x Nebulon-B Frigates, 3 x CR90 Corvettes and 2 x Rebel squadron packs (plus the X-Wings from the base set).

I also got a good deal of stuff I got the starter and all the Wave 1 releases and what I have is:

Imperial 2xVictory class Star Destroyers,1xGladiator class Star Destroyer and 1xImperial fighter squadron pack(plus the TIE's from the base set)

Rebel 1xMK2 Assault Frigate,2xNebulon-B Frigates,2xCR90 Corvettes and 1xRebel squadron pack(plus the X-Wings from the base set.

On order I have the Imperial Raider and the Rogues and Villans expansion and I plan on buying the Imperial class Star Destroyer,Home One Cruiser and the MC-30 Frigate.

I also plan on getting at least one more Assault Frigate and another Gladiator Star Destroyer.

In addition I'm getting more fighter squadrons from a friend so I'll have enough of them to keep me busy.

Lastly I got off Shapeways an Imperial Interdictor and I might get some other fighters like the TIE Defender for example.

Darkrazor one question what did you pay for the starter sets?

The reason I ask is that I got mine on ebay for around $67.00 USD or so.

I am Canadian so up here they cost more I got mine for 95.00 Can For two of them. A really good deal here they average 130.00 Can each up here or more.

I bought 2 on line from the miniatures market for 68.97 US plus shipping which really I probably paid over 100 Can for.

To give you an Idea I looked at fighter sets up here last week and they were 25.00 each

15mm and 28mm Fanatik12 Jun 2015 12:21 p.m. PST

I got mine for around $70. USD The MSRP is $99.99 USD.
