I can find Japanese Cavalry for 15mm, 28mm and so on. But nothing for 1/35 scale. I am making a small Diorama and need a few horsemen for my plan to work. If non are available, how would I go about making/converting them? |

MASTERBOX makes a set of American Civil War Union cavalry.
Use it as the basis of a conversion. Pick up the Tamiya, Dragon, or MASTERBOX WWII Imperial Japanese Army infantry sets. You may be able to fit the Japanese torsos, heads, arms and equipment to the Union cavalry legs and mount them on the horses. Sometimes a simple "head-swap" and glueing-on modern equipment is enough to make a convincing conversion, especially once painted. |

Ok cheers mate, I will have a look. Although these horses are a bit too in action for my idea at least I know I can use some guys like this to make something convincing. |

If you can use 1:32, and if you can make other conversions as needed, TVAG's "Little Warriors" Japanese for the period up to 1914 should do the job. Scroll well down the page to see the Cavalry and the rather more staid poses which might be closer to your needs via this link If anything looks useful, drop me a line and I might be able to make you a deal…. Tamiya used to have 1/35th scale German Cavalry set (two figures on standing horses.) It's OOP but maybe you can find one on evil bay. While most of the tack will be American, especially ACW you can also get some stuff here; link There is also this;
Sorry but I don't know of any specific Japanese stuff. |

Here is a conversion of ACW to Japanese Cav. link You did not say what era of Japanese Cav. But some 1/35 cav source items: ACW by MasterBox: kitmaniac.com/site/?p=2692 Dragon 1:35 WWII German Cossack Cavalry #6065 link Dragon 1/35 WWII German 1st Cavalry Division link |

M-Model also makes Polish WWII cav that might be useful, if expensive. |

Cheers guys, I will look through all the links and see what I can do! As for the period I am hoping for the Russian conflict in the 30s sort of style. But it isn't important what the era is, since the tank I am using stayed in use the whole war. |

Alright so I got some 1/35 infantry and the 1st German Cavalry kit (which is very nice by the way). I am struggling to find any actual info on Japanese Cavalry so I will just equip them as Japanese Infantry on horseback and I am very sure nobody will notice… So far I have assembled and base painted the Type 95 ha Go tank, I have got the horses being made tonight with their riders and I am waiting on the tank crew to arrive. Looking forward to completing my first diorama personally. |
