I'm not. I saw Jurassic Park in the movies. It was OK. Didn't see any of the other ones except on television. Once you've seen one movie about dinosaurs chomping on people you've seen em all. There really wasn't any plot besides that or did I miss something. |

I haven't been to the movies in years. Might see this one though. |

I'm going – it'll be the same story, more or less, but should be fairly impressive too! |

IMAX here too, I know it has bad reviews but the wife and I have not been on a date in months. |

My wife is totally there, dude. And it appears, so am I. I saw the original JP on cable a couple months ago; despite it's age, IMO, it holds up very well. I can remember nothing of the second, and may or may not have even seen the third. |

Will go. See the critters chomping on the people and imagine those people are various politicians who I hold in disrespect. Good for my morale and I don't have to go to jail. Do have one problem with these movies. You are hunting dinos with trained hunters and you are using light anti people weapons (all assault and sub machine guns use under powered cartridges). Where are the high powered sniper rifles (.5 caliber or higher) that have higher perpetration. Saw one of these movies where tyrannosaurus Rex ran through the city (think it was New York). If it tried to do that in large parts of Chicago it would last about 10 minutes and then you would see people selling dino burgers the next day. |

Saw a clip where Chris Pratt jumps into the Veliociraptor pit to save an attendant and tries to dino-whisper. No way. |

thosmoss, you are EVIL! Evil I tell ya! Where is my rifle? That particular dino has to DIE! Back to the question, yes I am going to go see it even though, yes it is a rehash of the original. Loved the original Jurassic Park and I liked the book as well which I read first. In fact Michael Criton knew he was writing a block buster movie when he published the book. I will buy my bag of overpriced stale popcorn, overpriced small coke that is really what we would have called a large when I was a kid, and sit in the nice climate controlled environment and enjoy the fun. |

For me the first one was OK. After that the franchise fell apart. Once you understand where Chrichton is coming from, and what his point is, it gets all rather treacle. Chrichton thinks that we have played away and destroyed our evolutionary excellence and debased our species and hence nothing but lunch for those species who have not. He view human society as unredeiably decadent because of this. Beyond that, the mere sensationalism of people being ripped apart has no cachet. I happen to like people. They may be a pain in the ass sometimes but they're far more interesting than dinosaurs. Even disgusting lawyers do not deserve to be lunch with a T-Rex. The first thing I'd want to know if it was I on the Island is where Hammond kept the keys to the M1 Abrams Tank. If he said he had none, I'd figure out how to pilot the helicopter out of there by myself. Like gamershs. I live in Sussex Country N.J. If you had a T-Rex roaming around here he'd be brought down by someone's lawn howitzer in half an hour. Can't imagine what a LAWS would do to it's internal organs! Yup, Dino burgers-- tastes like chicken! |
etotheipi | 11 Jun 2015 9:35 a.m. PST |
I will go see it if for no other reason that being caught in the Venturi effect vaccum of DOM's wake en route said flick. I saw JP in the movies and loved it, while a colleague of mine had read it and thought JP was a cute little movie. I had read Congo and he only saw it and our positions were reversed. I will love the movie, but I also have a frame of mind of what to expect from a movie. Lots of splodies and special effects are what movies do best. Drama and intrigue is better in books. |
