Which is my way of drawing you in, to inform you of a new blog post giving an overview of 28mm Modern Buildings made from MDF suitable for superhero, modern and zombie gaming.

Took a while to put together, which wasn't helped by my wife wanting the garden re-modelling and me writing off my car. Such is life.

Comments, either here or there, are appreciated.

Cheers

A nod to the Big Bang Theory Settlers of Catan episode?

Where the hell is the "city"?! I want pics of the whole deal!

Carrion Crow11 Jun 2015 2:57 a.m. PST

Would love to, VonTed, but whilst I have a plethora of figures, as I only have 6 buildings, my city would consist of Plasticville aircraft hangar, fire station and church and scratch-built bar, bank and a Japanese storehouse built for a game of Ronin.

That's a wonderful listing of all the best places to get modern city buildings. I had heard of most but you had a number that were new to me. Thanks!!

Carrion Crow12 Jun 2015 5:01 a.m. PST

Thanks Nazrat. The general idea with the posts is to provide a single place listing all the places you can get suitable buildings, with links, so you don't have to go hunting for yourself. The previous post on the blog was to do with pre-moulded plastic and foam buildings and the next will be regarding print-on-demand cardstock kits.

By the end of the series(!) it should provide a single resource for ALL modern buildings, so you can build your city the way you want it to look.

When I was regularly playing Supersystem I would have KILLED for buildings like those. Now I rarely play but would still build a big city with that stuff if it wasn't for storage issues.

Carrion this is very useful….but I have 3 others for your list:

Shark mounted lasers
Mad mecha guy
Crescent root studios

Carrion Crow15 Jun 2015 4:59 a.m. PST

Hi Twoball

I believe I may have looked at the first two, but felt their buildings were 'Near Future' rather than Modern, so didn't include them. I honestly can't rememeber if I looked at Crescent Root or not.

However, as with all posts of this nature, there will always be one or two that I've missed, so I will take a look at all three companies and edit the post to include them if they've got some suitable kit.

Thanks for the input.

Sounds good shark and mad have some things that could be used in moderns…shark has road tiles and a ww2 hangar. Mmg has crates and containers.

But crescent root studios have mdf prepainted goodness I own a lot of their 15mm desert modern, and 28mm stuff definitely ww2ish. At least.

Again great post!
