Hi all,
With the completion of the 2/24e Ligne I only have 22 battalions to go. The 24e Ligne were involved in the Peninsular War from June 1808 when elements of the regiment formed part of a provisional battalion under General Reille.

Following Bailen and Napoleon's re-invasion of Spain in November 1808, the 24e Ligne were very busy as part of Victor's new I Corps leading up to the battle of Talavera.

I wish I'd went with 24 figure battalions. I can't keep up with you with my 32 man units.

Yet another great looking battalion Jonathan. And very well done indeed.

@ EB
your 32 man battalions look very impressive against our 24s. I am working on plans to increase to 32 or 36.

How did you come up with the plume color/paint scheme for this unit's regarding the Volt. co?
I have been trying to figure if this was by regiment scheme, brigade or as far as the corps. I have seen evidence of all above.

thanks
MG

Thanks for your comments guys.

Hey Colin, I really liked those large Austrian units you had up the other day, they really look the part.

MG, all my references, re uniform peculiarities are covered off with the post on the 1st battalion.

I show the illustration by Rousselot which also follows the Otto Manuscript illustrations showing the voltigeurs in 1807. It was specific to the regiment as far as I know. Hope that helps.

Cheers
JJ
