I have 32 Dwarves on my workbench waiting for my attention. As directed, the painting service gave them green shields, with a nice shading effect from light green to dark green.

If I had had a brain, I should have had the painting service paint designs on the shields, too. frown (I wasn't that organized at the time!)

So I need inspiration, as well as a technique, for painting these 32 smooth-surfaced, kite-shaped shields (no boss, no ribbing).

For what it's worth, the army's emblem is triangular with crossed swords. Looks like real swords attached to the (leather?) banner. The King is armed with a double-bladed axe.

Can you spark my imagination and/or throw a technique my way? grin

Go look in the back of "The Return Of The King," and just use random Tengwar characters on the shields. Single characters, or two or three either across or from top to bottom.

I had a nice one I did once. Black shield, silver anvil and hammer with silver star above all with long tail on the star.
