We only have to win once…

Big Martin Back09 Jun 2015 3:42 a.m. PST

What's good about that?

MajorB09 Jun 2015 3:42 a.m. PST

Don't you just hate it, when you go to all the effort of setting up a campaign only for one side to decisively win in the first battle?

Jeff of SaxeBearstein09 Jun 2015 3:59 a.m. PST

Well, look at the bright side . . . we will all still be able to celebrate Christmas . . . (and get lots of toy soldiers as presents).

So Wrong but Romantic wins out over Right but Repulsive.
(Thank you, Yeatman and Sellar)

I had a great time. By the end of the game I was getting a handle on the rules. With that came the realisation that I should have done a couple of things differently earlier; but "oh well". The bottom line is: fun was had.

I do hope the poor chap who's fallen off his bike just behind the blue-coated unit is all right. People really shouldn't leave dice lying around like that.

Supercilius Maximus,

grin . . . it does look like that, doesn't it?

Actually the dice were marking unit status; and the "bicycle" was a pair of markers indicating a type of casualty . . . but I kind of like your interpretation better, sir. . . . grin . . . thank you for the chuckle.

Murdock just posted several photos of our middle session of this Edgehill game . . . and he is a much better photographer than I am:

That looks like it was a really excellent and fun game.

Nice website, Jeff – well worth the tour.

And some useful tips on painting large numbers of 28mm horses (although my all-time most useful tip is still "get some other mug to do it for you").
