Today's beach report from Hatteras Village, North Carolina: wind from the southwest, air temperature 83, water 77. Waves in two varieties, wimpy and oh Bleeped text. The rides are rough, a couple had me ass over tea kettle. My wife was knocked down twice going back in. Then we sat up on the beach and enjoyed cold drinks from the cooler. Then we watched a huge bunch of seaweed roll in. Hopefully the ghost crabs will eat it overnight. And that's the beach news.

Thank you so much! I am hundreds of mils from the beach, but I remember it fondly.

Lucky dog.

I miss that area.

Used to spend a couple of weeks there every Summer, and the fishing was great.

Don't recall much, if any seaweed though.

Still too cold here in NJ

Been coming here since 1976 and have never seen such a lot of seaweed before. If its still around tomorrow we'll take the ferry to ocracoke.

The only time I ever say decent waves on the Carolina coast was during a hurricane in 83, just before we got chased off the beach by the patrol… :)
