This is a different gallery post since it doesn't show pictures of figures. But I hope you will still enjoy what I am presenting.

I received a beautiful saber as a retirement gift. I retired on my 67th birthday in September 2013. My wife of over 40 years asked me to pick out my own retirement gift (that's really tough isn't it?).

ALL THE PHOTOS DO NOT DO THIS SABER JUSTICE. IN HAND IT IS EVEN MORE STRIKINGLY BEAUTIFUL.

I found this saber on a website located in France and chose one of their beautiful sabers as my retirement gift. What do you think?

John,
I would say you picked the perfect gift for your retirement.

and I would add that you picked the perfect wife. Enjoy the new life!

VonBlucher and Musketier, you are both right! Especially on the pick of my wife! She's a keeper.

I have a couple of other swords. One my wife bought me when we were stationed in W. Germany. It's a French Cuirassiers trooper's sword. It's a beast! I understand why the cuirassier troopers complained about their swords being so unwieldy. By comparison, the Chasseur Officer's Saber is like a magic wand, which is very well balanced and easy move.

Congregations on the retirement and the present.

Exquisite.

Thanks for the link, John. An excellent site. I also have a French Cuirassier's straight sword, and yeah, it's very heavy. I have only one heavier and it's two-handed.
